Yet again Canon has advanced the game with its pioneering Spherical Aberration (SA) Control mechanism – a new feature on this lens – that allows you to specify the look and feel of out-of-focus bokeh areas, both in front and behind the subject. It’s also possible to produce a soft-focus effect on the subject itself.
Also released is our ground-breaking new Mobile File Transfer app. This is aimed at professional photographers with a need to transmit images from locations that don’t have network access. Compatible cameras can be connected to an Android4 or Apple iOS device wirelessly or using a USB cable5. Images can then be transferred to FTP servers (including those with secure SFTP and FTPS connections) either as they are shot or after review.

Choose how to transfer
Set to Auto Transfer to FTP images as they are shot, or choose which images to send by viewing them on camera. It’s possible to select a range of image files too, by date, thumbnail or ‘not transferred’ status. Pictures can be cropped and voice memo and star rating information added too.
